Austin brushes off transfer talk

Charlie Austin has brushed off transfer talk and insists he is focused on QPR's Championship season opener on the 8th of August.

The striker has been strongly linked with moves to Newcastle, West Ham and Leicester City after impressing in his debut campaign in England's top tier.

Despite a disappointing season for the Hoops, Austin still bagged 18 league goals for the west London side last term.

A 42.9% goal contribution was the best individual contribution of all players in the Premier League last season, with QPR keen to retain the services of the frontman in their bid to secure promotion at the first time of asking.

However, despite being linked with a move away from Loftus Road this summer, Austin insists he's focused on the new season with his current team.

Austin brushes off transfer talk

"What’s going on back at home is for other people to worry about," Austin told QPR's official website.

"That’s for Les [Ferdinand], Chris [Ramsey], my agent and Tony [Fernandes] to sort out.

"For me, I’m here to get my head down and work as hard as I can, hopefully play in a couple of games whilst I’m out here and prepare for Charlton on the 8th.

"Until I’m told otherwise, I’m a QPR player and I’m preparing for the Championship next year, and if I’m told otherwise, then so be it."
