Manchester United could bring forward their interest in Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka if they sell Paul Pogba this summer, claims The Sun.
Pogba has entered the final 12 months of his current United deal and is yet to give any indication he wants to renew.
Paris Saint-Germain are keen on signing the France international this summer but need to raise money through player sales before they can afford him.
United have already touched based with Goretzka's representatives and have made it clear they will gazump Bayern's current contract offer with £200,000-a-week wages.
The Germany international has also entered the final year of his existing contract and the midfielder is growing frustrated with how talks are progressing with Bayern.
Real Madrid are also interested in signing the 26-year-old but will only enter the race if he is available on a free transfer next summer.
United know they will face increased competition for Goretzka's signature if they wait 12 months and may even make a cut-price move for him this summer if Pogba goes.
Goretzka was limited to just 18 starts in the Bundesliga last season after an injury-hit campaign and just one start at Euro 2020 for Germany.
The imposing midfielder has played a direct hand in 33 goals in 78 Bundesliga appearances since joining Bayern from Schalke in 2018.
