Manchester United believe Pogba will sign new deal

Manchester United believe Bruno Fernandes is the key to Paul Pogba's long-term future at Old Trafford, claims The Daily Mail.

Pogba has been heavily linked with a move away from United for the second time in his career since the end of last season.

The France international had his eyes set on either returning to Juventus or joining Real Madrid at the end of the season but those moves are no longer on the table.

With transfer fees set to tumble as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, Pogba accepts now is not the time to leave his boyhood club.

United will not accept any cut-price deal for Pogba leaving the midfielder with no choice but to knuckle down and rediscover his best form at Old Trafford.

However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side believe the impact made by Fernandes since his January arrival could spark Pogba back to his best and even lead to a new long-term deal.

The prospect of a Pogba and Fernandes midfield partnership has United supporters salvating and it has the potential to be the best in the division.

With Pogba back to full fitness, they are set to play together for the first time when the Premier League resumes later this month.

United hope the duo can quickly form a budding partnership on the pitch to fire them back into the Champions League next season.

Pogba's current deal is due to expire in the summer of 2021 but United have an option to extend his contract by a further 12 months.

The 27-year-old is the only player in the Premier League this season with a 100% through ball success rate (5+ attempted), but the problem is injuries have limited the midfielder to just seven league appearances in 2019/20.
