Bournemouth record signing out for a year

Bournemouth have been served a major blow in their quest to avoid the drop following news their record signing Tyrone Mings will miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury.

Mings, a £8m summer signing from Ipswich, was stretchered off just six minutes into his debut against Leicester at the weekend.

The 22-year-old will now be out for between nine and 12 months after scans revealed he has torn anterior and medial ligaments in his knee, according to BBC Radio Solent.

The news caps off a terrible week for manager Eddie Howe, who also learnt he will be without Max Gradel until the turn of the year.

Gradel, 27, a £6m summer signing from Saint-Etienne, was forced off during the same fixture after tearing a cruciate ligament in his knee.
