Palace eye former Arsenal midfielder

Crystal Palace are interested in signing former Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini on a free transfer, according to The Daily Telegraph.

Flamini, 32, has been a free agent since being released by Arsenal at the end of last season and Alan Pardew is weighing up his options after missing out on two transfer targets on deadline day.

Bournemouth beat Palace to the loan signing of Jack Wilshere, while the Eagles couldn’t get a deal over the line to sign Tomas Rincon from Genoa, which has led Pardew to consider the French midfielder.

However, Palace can expect competition from Roma, AC Milan and Olympiakos for his signature.

In the last four Premier League campaigns only four Arsenal players require fewer minutes per interceptions than Flamini (33.7 minutes).
