Former Tottenham and Manchester United striker Teddy Sheringham hopes Harry Kane doesn’t leave it too long before making his move to Old Trafford.
Kane, 22, has been heavily linked with a move to United since the end of last season and Louis van Gaal’s side are expected to rekindle their interest in the England international in the future.
And Sheringham, who made the move to United when he was 31, hopes Kane doesn’t make the same mistake as him in leaving it too late to join English football’s most successful club.
“I’d like to think that [contract] keeps him at Tottenham for another couple of years, at least,” Sheringham is quoted as saying by the Press Association.
“Tell him not to wait too long, though. Not as long as I waited. I was 31 by the time I went to Man United.”
This calendar year has been a sensational 12 months for Kane, who has established himself as Spurs’ talisman having spent the majority of his development out on various loan spells. In fact, no player in the Premier League has scored more goals than Kane in 2015 (24).
