Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph insists he is over his injury woes and ready to make an impact on Manuel Pellegrini’s squad.
Delph, 26, has been plagued with a series of niggling injuries since joining City from Aston Villa over the summer that has limited him to just 144 minutes of Premier League action this season.
However, in the wake of scoring his first league goal for City – and first since March 2014 – the England international believes he is now ready to kick-start his career.
“It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster ride, I’ve had some little niggles but I’m over them at the minute so it’s time to push on,” Delph is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. “It’s been frustrating but I’m finally over it.
“I’m here to win trophies and I see no reason why I’m not going to do that with the squad that we’ve got. It’s an unbelievable squad.”
It took Delph just five shots to register his first goal for City, when he had failed to score in his previous 49 for Villa in the league.
