Neymar’s father has confirmed Manchester United were the mystery team that lodged a £140m for the Barcelona forward.
The Brazil international and his father are currently in court for tax evasion where it was revealed an unnamed club submitted a world record bid for the Barcelona ace.
Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for Neymar in recent months and it has now emerged they were the club to move for the superstar after his father confirmed so on Spanish radio station Cadena Cope.
However, he was keen to reiterate Neymar remains ‘very happy’ with the European Champions and he has no desire to make the switch to Old Trafford.
The 23-year-old has been in tremendous form this season and has arguably been the best player in Europe thus far. Having already scored 16 league goals from 18 appearances, the Brazilian is well on course to surpass the 22-goal haul he finished with last season.
Furthermore, no Barcelona player has garnered a higher WhoScored.com rating than Neymar in the league this season, and he is also the highest rated across Europe’s top five leagues (8.69).
