Chelsea have seen an initial bid for Real Madrid man James Rodriguez rejected, with Florentino Perez holding out for offers of £60m, reports the Daily Mirror.
Rodriguez’s future has been the centre of speculation in recent months, though the player is keen to remain in Madrid.
Head coach Zinedine Zidane has also spoken of his desire to keep Rodriguez, but reports continue to link the Colombian away from the Bernabeu.
Chelsea are one of a number of Premier League teams linked with the 25-year-old, who has mustered just 34 minutes of league action across two La Liga games so far this season.
The Blues are hoping to bolster their attack before the transfer window closes, but will need to fork out £60m to convince Real Madrid supremo Perez to sell.
