Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed the signing of Empoli defender Lorenzo Tonelli.
Tonelli, 26, underwent his medical with the Serie A giants last week but only now has the deal been made official after the Napoli chief confirmed as much on his official Twitter account.
The Italian central defender worked with Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri at Empoli last season and is already well versed with his tactical demands, which should make his transition into the first-team a seamless one.
Only Andrea Costa (3.8) completed more interceptions per game for Empoli in Serie A this season than Tonelli (3.1).
