Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette has rebuffed an approach from Barcelona, according to L’Equipe, via Get French Football.
Barcelona have made signing a fourth striker to help ease the burden on Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez for next season and had seemingly identified Lacazette as an option.
Lacazette, 24, has been linked with a high profile move away from Lyon in recent years and turned down an approach from Newcastle in January to remain at his boyhood club until the end of the season.
However, the France international has turned down the chance to play for Barcelona, as he doesn’t want to sit on the bench for large chunks of the season.
Lacazette scored a hat-trick for Lyon in their thumping 6-1 win over Monaco at the weekend to all but secure their spot as runners-up behind PSG.
Personally, it also saw the Lyon No.10 take his goal tally in the league for the season beyond the 20-goal mark (21) and means that only Zlatan Ibrahimovic (54) has scored more league goals since the start of last season in Ligue 1 (Lacazette – 48).
