Manchester United line up future left-back to replace Shaw

According to the Daily Mail Jose Mourinho has scouts casting an eye over Celtic’s Kieran Tierney as the Scottish champions prepare for Sunday’s Old Firm derby.

The 20-year-old is already a full international and has long been earmarked as a star in the making despite still being 20 years of age and has been on Manchester United's radar for some time.

Tierney has even captained Brendan Rodgers’ side on occasion and his experience at such a young age is noteworthy. Indeed, the full-back has Champions League football under his belt and is already seen as a player that could make the step up to the Premier League with ease.

Mourinho has made the search for a new left-back a priority this summer, despite the impressive performances of Ashley Young for much of the season, with Luke Shaw set to be sold.

Having only extended his contract last year Tierney still has a whopping five years remaining on his current deal and wouldn’t come cheap, with Celtic likely to play hardball over a player that has been touted among the club’s very best academy products for many years. Since breaking into the first team at Parkheard three years ago the defender has made 124 appearances for the Boys.
