Chelsea ready monster contract offer for star to ward off Real Madrid interest
Chelsea are ready to make star man Eden Hazard the club’s highest paid player amidst renewed interest from Real Madrid, reports the Sunday Express.
The Belgian has made a stunning start to the domestic campaign, with his WhoScored rating (8.04) the best in the Premier League.
Hazard was a rumoured target for Real Madrid over the summer on the back of an excellent World Cup campaign that saw Belgium finish third in Russia and Hazard end the tournament as the best rated player with a 8.51.
Chelsea are understandably keen to tie their prized asset down to a new deal and have been looking to convince the 27-year-old to put pen to paper on a new contract for the best part of a year now as the player enters the final 18 months of his current deal in west London.
They are prepared to offer Hazard up to £350,000-a-week if he commits his long-term future to Stamford Bridge, which would make him the highest paid player in the Premier League.
A return of seven goals and three assists has helped propel Hazard’s rating so high, though he was unable to have the desired impact in the Blues’ 2-2 draw with Manchester United on Saturday, with Ross Barkley’s late goal securing Chelsea a point in the early kick off.
