Bundesliga side Augsburg have announced they have signed Reece Oxford from West Ham on loan for the rest of the season.
Oxford was regarded as one of the brightest English talents a few years ago and Gladbach pushed hard to sign the 20-year-old on a full-time basis 12 months ago.
The England Under-20 international made seven league appearances for Gladbach last season but West Ham refused their offers of a permanent deal.
However, Oxford has failed to break into Manuel Pellegrini’s plans this season and has now been loaned out to Augsburg.
The German side are currently one place and one point above the relegation play-off spot and Manuel Baum’s side reportedly have the option to make his switch permanent in the summer.
Oxford has a lot of time to make up having failed to make a single appearance for the Hammers this season.
Augsburg host Mainz on Sunday and Oxford will be available to make his debut for Baum’s side, though may only make the bench. Gladbach only won two of the five games Oxford started last season.
