Manchester United forward ready to snub Juventus and Bayern Munich
Anthony Martial is ready to turn down interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs to sign a new long-term deal with Manchester United, claims ESPN.
The 22-year-old's current contract is due to expire at the end of next season and he has endured a turbulent relationship with United boss Jose Mourinho.
Martial has failed to nail down a regular starting berth since Mourinho's arrival and the United manager was even keen to sell the France international in the summer.
Mourinho was desperate to sign a winger capable of carrying out his demands, having lamented Martial’s inability to defend in the past.
However, United chief executive Ed Woodward blocked Martial’s departure and now the United No.11 is set to pledge his long-term future to the club.
United announced a new long-term deal for Luke Shaw earlier this month and Martial is ready to follow in his footsteps despite interest from the likes of Juventus and Bayern Munich.
Martial has only started 40 of a possible 85 Premier League matches under Mourinho but appears to have turned a page in the last week.
The Frenchman scored twice in a 2-2 draw away to Chelsea last weekend before starting United’s 1-0 defeat to Juventus in midweek.
Since making his United debut in the 2015/16 campaign, Martial has scored more league goals than any other player at the club (27).
