Chelsea have expressed an interest in signing former Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero, claims ESPN.
Romero is a free agent after being released by United this summer after six years at Old Trafford.
The Argentina international dropped completely out of favour last season following Dean Henderson's return but was denied the chance to join Everton on loan.
Romero is currently back in Argentina but is keen to prolong his playing career in Europe and has been earmarked as a transfer target by both Chelsea and Juventus.
Chelsea need a new goalkeeper following the departure of Willy Caballero but that would potentially see Romero third choice at Stamford Bridge.

Juventus are also on the look-out for a new shot-stopper after Gianluigi Buffon left to re-sign for Parma earlier this summer.
Romero was arguably the best back-up goalkeeper in the Premier League during his time at United, finishing with 35 clean sheets in 57 appearances and just 0.4 goals conceded per game.
