Tottenham set astonishing price tag for Real Madrid target

Tottenham will demand Real Madrid pay £130m to sign Christian Eriksen this summer, claims The Daily Mirror.

Eriksen will only have 12 months left to run on his existing Tottenham deal at the end of the season and is unlikely to renew with Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Madrid have earmarked Eriksen as a potential long-term replacement for Luka Modric and are expected to firm up their interest this summer.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is notoriously difficult to negotiate with and that will prove no exception in discussions for Eriksen.

The Premier League outfit want £130m for Eriksen despite the fact he could leave the club for nothing at the end of next season.

Madrid will almost certainly not entertain a deal at that cost, particularly as they are expected to sign Eden Hazard from Chelsea in a transfer worth around £100m.

Hazard will also only have a year left to run on his contract at the end of the season and Madrid will not pay more for Eriksen than the Belgium international.

Since August 2016, only Kevin De Bruyne has registered as many assists as Eriksen in the Premier League (34).
