Seydou Doumbia is closing in on a switch to Newcastle, reports Sky Sports.
The Ivorian has been strongly linked with a move to the Magpies before the close of the transfer window, with the striker now supposedly undergoing a medical on Tyneside.
Doumbia spent the first half of the season on loan with CSKA Moscow from AS Roma, and impressed with five goals and five assists in 12 league appearances to contribute to a WhoScored rating of 7.01.
It is believed Doumbia, 28, would sign on loan until the summer, though it remains to be seen whether Newcastle have a deal in place to make the move permanent.
