Bayern Munich winger unhappy and reveals Premier League interest
Douglas Costa has put suitors on red alert after revealing he is growing increasingly unhappy with life at Bayern Munich after dropping down the pecking order under Carlo Ancelotti this season.
The Brazil international enjoyed a stunning debut campaign with Bayern under Pep Guardiola last season but has struggled to establish the same role with the Bundesliga champions this time around.
Costa, 26, has vented his unhappiness at the situation, revealing he will address his long-term future at the end of the season while dangling a carrot to Premier League sides at the same time.
“I don’t completely feel happy here, but we will soon find a solution. Whether I stay it depends on a few factors,” Costa told German outlet Bild, via The Sun.
“Main factor is minutes played. Being a core player is a crucial difference in my career. England is one of the biggest leagues in the world – fantastic."
The Bayern No.11 still has three-and-a-half-years remaining on his existing deal, while it is understood the Bavarian giants wouldn’t even consider any offer under £25m in the summer.
Costa has only started eight league games this season but has still completed the most dribbles in the Bundesliga since the start of last seaosn (126).
