Ronaldo pledges future to Juventus amidst shock Manchester United return rumours

Cristiano Ronaldo has pledged to stay at Juventus until 2022 following reports of a shock return to former employers Manchester United, reports Tuttosport.

Ronaldo moved to the Serie A powerhouse in 2018 in a deal with just shy of £100m, penning a four-year contract in the process.

The Portugal international has shown no signs that he is prepared to leave Turin in the foreseeable future, yet Spanish football expert Guillem Balague revealed he was informed by an unnamed director of football at a top European club that he wouldn't be "surprised" if Ronaldo moved back to Old Trafford.

"Interestingly I was told by a director of football of a top club in Europe: 'How about if Manchester United decide to go for him?'," Balague said.

"And I said: 'No, that cannot be possible, they actually are putting the money somewhere else, they are looking for a different type of player'.

"But he told me: 'I wouldn't be surprised'.

"However, I would pass on that one. I would be surprised."

The 35-year-old has a very good relationship with Juventus and has shown no indication that he is willing to depart this summer.

After a slow start to the season, Ronaldo now has 21 league goals to his name as Juventus seek to successfully defend their Serie A crown.
