Atletico Madrid are monitoring Luis Alberto’s progress after being impressed with the Lazio attacker’s start to the season, reports Calciomercato, via Football Italia.
Lazio have made a stunning start to the season and Alberto’s performances behind star striker Ciro Immobile have been integral to their early season success.
Alberto joined the Serie A giants from Liverpool over 12 months ago in a deal worth £6m but struggled to make an impact in Italy last season.
However, the 25-year-old has exploded into life this season and has started in all 10 of Lazio’s league games thus far, playing a direct hand in eight goals in that time (three goals, five assists).
Alberto is now on the cusp of his first senior Spain call-up and he is now firmly on the radar of Atletico, who are looking to revitalise their attacking options.
Only Paulo Dybala (8.25) has garnered a higher WhoScored rating in Serie A than Alberto (7.96) this season.
