Man Utd hoping to pip Bayern in race to sign Simons
Manchester United are hoping to beat off competition from Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig in the race to sign Xavi Simons from PSG, reports Spanish publication Sport.
Simons shone for RB Leipzig last season, scoring eight times and providing 11 assists for the Bundesliga powerhouse.
Unsurprisingly, RB Leipzig are keen on bringing Simons back to the Red Bull Arena with the Dutchman happy to leave PSG this summer.
However, the 21-year-old's fine performances in Germany's top tier last term have caught the eye of Europe's heavyweights, with United hopeful of securing his services.
While a central midfielder is the next port of call for United, who have been linked with moves for Manuel Ugarte and Richard Rios, the Premier League side are eyeing up Simons as they look to improve in the final third.
With Jadon Sancho expected to depart this summer, the winger having been linked with a move to PSG, Simons has been identified as his replacement.
Simons ranked third for successful dribbles (84) in the Bundesliga last season and his versatility means he could operate in a number of roles across the frontline.
