Hamburg are on the verge of signing Barcelona starlet Alen Halilovic in a permanent deal worth €5m (£4.2m), claims Sport, via Football Espana.
Halilovic, 20, spent last season on loan with Sporting Gijon to further his development and reportedly had an offer to join Valencia this summer.
However, the Croatia international has instead opted to move to Germany and join Hamburg in a deal that allows Barcelona to re-sign the creative midfielder over the next two years.
Luis Enrique’s side can pay €10m (£8.4m) in the first year and then the clause increases to €12.5m (£10.5m) in the second year.
Of the 118 players aged 23 and under that made at least one appearance in La Liga last season Halilovic completed the most dribbles (81).
