Inter have announced Marcelo Brozovic has put pen to paper on a new five-year deal keeping him at the club until 2021.
Brozovic, who had two-and-a-half years remaining on his previous deal, has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent years and looked set to leave in January after falling completely out of favour under previous manager Frank de Boer.
However, the 24-year-old has since returned to the fold under new manager Stefano Pioli and that has convinced the Inter midfielder to renew his deal with the Serie A giants.
“Marcelo Brozovic has signed a contract extension until 2021,” a short statement read on Inter’s official website.
Since joining from Dinamo Zagreb in 2014, Brozovic has struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular, despite the fact the statistics reveal Inter are actually more successful with the midfielder in the starting XI. They have won 46.7% of the 45 league matches he has started, compared to just 41.3% of the 46 he hasn’t been named as a starter.
