Newcastle have had a £4.5m bid for Amiens right-back Emil Krafth rejected, claims The Sun.
Krafth spent last season on loan at Amiens and the French side only made his switch from Bologna permanent at the start of the summer.
The 24-year-old was a first-team regular for Amiens in 2018/19 and Luka Elsner’s side paid just £2m to sign the Sweden international on a full-time basis.
Newcastle are wasting little time bolstering their squad for the new season following Steve Bruce’s arrival and have offered Amiens the chance to make an instant profit.
The Magpies want to sign competition for DeAndre Yedlin and Javier Manquillo for next season but Amiens have turned down their opening offer for Krafth and value him much higher.
No outfielder accumulated more minutes playing time for Amiens in Ligue 1 last season than Krafth (2973), who made 35 league appearances in his maiden campaign for the club.
However, of players that made at least 25 starts in Ligue 1 last season, only two players garnered a worse WhoScored rating than the Amiens defender (6.49).
