PSG ready to make most of Tottenham’s stars stalling contract negotiations

Paris Saint-Germain are preparing to test Tottenham’s resolve over the availability of playmaker Christian Eriksen, the Sunday Express reports.

The Ligue 1 champions are believed to be readying a bid of £100m to try and tempt Spurs to sell their creator in chief, without having the ability to sign an immediate replacement of they do.

The Denmark international is yet to agree terms on a new contract with the London club, with his current deal set to expire in two years time.

Tottenham’s strict wage policy was shattered by the renewal of star striker Harry Kane over the summer but the club are still clearly keen to avoid bowing to their players’ demands, having failed to successfully negotiate terms for Toby Alderweireld in recent times.

PSG would no doubt be able to match Eriksen’s desires in that respect, but convincing Tottenham to part way with such a key player will prove difficult.

Since the 2016/17 season the former Ajax star has registered 25 Premier League assists, which is at least eight more than any other teammate in that timeframe.
