Liverpool have rejected Barcelona’s second bid for Philippe Coutinho worth £90m and have reiterated the midfielder is not for sale, reports The Daily Telegraph.
Coutinho has emerged as a top transfer target for Barcelona this summer as Ernesto Valverde’s side look to bolster their offensive options in the wake of Neymar’s £193m departure to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Brazil international has reportedly even told Jurgen Klopp he would like to join Barcelona this summer but is only interested in an amicable solution to his future and will not force through a move.
However, Liverpool have categorically ruled out Coutinho’s departure and hope to have put the saga to bed by rejecting Barcelona’s second bid, which would have made the 25-year-old the second most expensive player of all-time.
In the last four Premier League campaigns only David Silva (48) has made more accurate through balls than Coutinho (42).
