Chelsea make Arsenal star their main transfer target

Chelsea are closing in on the Premier League title and want to make a huge splash in the summer transfer window by landing Alexis Sanchez from London rivals Arsenal, reports The Guardian.

Sanchez, 28, will have 12 months remaining on his existing deal at the end of the season and looks destined to leave Arsenal in the summer after failing to agree personal terms in contract talks that have been on going throughout the season.

The Chile international will not be short of suitors should Arsenal be forced to cash-in on their best player in the summer and Chelsea manager Antonio Conte wants to sign the former Barcelona forward to significantly bolster his offensive options.

Sanchez’s potential arrival would be in no way be as a replacement for Eden Hazard but rather to compliment the Belgium international, which would make for one of the best offensive lines in Europe, let alone the Premier League.

No player has scored or assisted more goals in the Premier League this season than Sanchez (27), while only Hazard (7.89) has secured a higher WhoScored rating this term than Sanchez (7.84) in England’s top flight.
