Arsenal monitoring highly-rated West Ham centre-back
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is considering a move for West Ham's Issa Diop as he looks to revamp the Gunners' backline, reports The Mirror on Sunday.
Arteta, who is thankfully recovering having tested positive for Coronavirus earlier this week, is hoping to rebuild the Arsenal squad this summer.
It's seen the north London side heavily linked with moves for a number of stars across the continent, including Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey.
And despite adding a new centre-back to the ranks in January in the form of Pablo Mari, Arteta looking to bring in at least one more defender when possible.
Diop is believed to be high on the Spaniard's wishlist despite West Ham's struggles following his arrival from Toulouse in 2018.
The 23-year-old still has three years left to run on his current deal in east London and West Ham would be reluctant to cash in on the youngster.
However, they may be powerless to stop Diop from leaving should the drop down to the Championship, with the Hammers, prior to the Premier League's suspension, sat outside the relegation zone on goal difference only.
Diop has returned a WhoScored rating of 6.70 from his 23 league appearances for David Moyes' side this season.
