Sunderland have signed full-back DeAndre Yedlin on a season-long loan deal from Tottenham, the club has announced.
Yedlin, 22, has only managed to play 11 minutes in the Premier League since joining Spurs from MLS in January 2014 and is excited at the prospect of getting regular action with the Black Cats.
“I’m delighted to be given the opportunity to play for a club with such a great history.
“I’ve heard fantastic things about Sunderland and the supporters from Claudio Reyna and Jozy Altidore. Claudio speaks very highly of Dick Advocaat from his time at Rangers.”
The right-back featured in the MLS All-Star team of the year in both of his final two years in MLS with Seattle Sounders.
