Tottenham left-back to undergo knee surgery

Tottenham have announced that left-back Danny Rose will undergo knee surgery and could now miss the start of next season.

Rose, 26, hasn’t played since being forced off in the 0-0 draw with Sunderland back in January and while he had returned to training, the problem had not fully resolved itself.

Spurs had hoped to have the England international available for the remaining games of the campaign, but with second now secured, the decision has been made for Rose to go under the knife.

“We can confirm that Danny Rose has undergone exploratory surgery on his left knee today,” a statement read on Tottenham’s official Twitter feed.

“He recently returned to training, however the problem has not resolved fully therefore a decision has been made to proceed to surgery.

“He will now return to action next season.”
