Antonio Conte has instructed Inter to make Romelu Lukaku his first signing as Inter boss, claims Sky Sports.
The former Chelsea manager is expected to replace Luciano Spalletti as Inter head coach at the end of the season and is already devising his summer transfer plans.
Conte wanted to sign Lukaku in 2017 during his second summer as Chelsea manager but missed out on the Belgium international to Manchester United.
The Italian now wants to bring Lukaku to Inter to kickstart his transformation of the club from top-four contenders to title challengers.
Lukaku is understood to be pondering his future at United after just two years at the club following their failure to qualify for the Champions League next season.
The 26-year-old has already suggested he wants to play in Italy at one point in his career and a move to Inter could suit all parties, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer open to selling the United No.9.
Lukaku has divided opinion among United supporter since making his £75m move from Everton, though it remains to be seen whether Inter can afford to sign the Belgian.
Selling Lukaku is not a priority for United and the Red Devils will almost certainly want to recoup their initial outlay.
Lukaku has returned an underwhelming tally of 28 league goals in two years at United and only 22 of his 32 league appearances this season came as a starter.
The United striker is not the only Premier League player Conte is interested in, as it has also emerged he wants to reunite with Chelsea outcast Victor Moses.
Moses emerged as a key player during Conte’s two years in charge of Chelsea and the 28-year-old has dropped completely out of favour since his departure last year.
The Nigeria international joined Turkish giants Fenerbahce on loan in January but his future remains uncertain, particularly as Chelsea may be banned from signing players this summer.
Moses hasn’t particularly pulled up trees at Fenerbahce, either, managing just seven starts from his 13 league appearances. He has scored three times and provided one assist in the league this season.
