West Ham make £20m move for Manchester City outcast
West Ham have launched a £20m bid to sign Manchester City outcast Kelechi Iheanacho, reports Sky Sports.
Iheanacho, 20, is widely expected to leave City this summer after dropping down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola this season, with West Ham among several Premier League clubs interested in his services.
The Nigeria international has only started one game in 2017 for City, and with Guardiola expected to bolster his offensive options in the summer, playing time will come at a premium for the youngster next season.
West Ham have already secured Pablo Zabaleta’s services from City this summer and Slaven Bilic is now turning his attention to Iheanacho as he looks to solve his problem in attack.
The Hammers are desperate to sign a reliable striker for next season after failing to call upon the services of Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho each week.
Of players that have scored 10 goals in the last two Premier League campaigns, Iheanacho has impressively required the fewest minutes per goal (1 every 106.5 minutes of action).
