Liverpool fan favourite set for Anfield exit

Liverpool defender Kolo Toure has not been awarded a new deal and is set to leave the club when his contract expires in the summer, reports The Daily Mail.

Toure, 35, has developed into a fan favourite among the Liverpool fans during his three-year spell at the club after he joined from Manchester City on a free transfer but it appears his time at the club is coming to an end despite an impressive campaign.

The former Ivory Coast international was arguably Liverpool's best player in the Europa League final against Sevilla last week but Jurgen Klopp is prepared to move on from his experience and sound out alternative options in the summer with Schalke central defender Joel Matip already set to join in the summer.

Toure made 26 appearances across three competitions for Liverpool this season with his solitary goal coming in the 6-0 thumping over Aston Villa in February.

Only Dejan Lovren (60) made more clearances in the Europa League for Liverpool this season than Toure (55).
