Manchester United are no longer interested in signing Tottenham left-back Danny Rose, reports The Daily Telegraph.
Rose has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in the last 12 months as he desperately looks to leave Tottenham and return north closer to home.
United were expected to move for the England international this summer but Mourinho has cooled the club’s interest in the 27-year-old.
The Red Devils have already signed Porto teenager Diogo Dalot, who is primarily a right-back but can provide cover on the opposite flank.
Mourinho is now prioritising the remainder of his budget on signing a new centre-back, while another central midfielder or striker is also on the Portuguese’s summer wishlist.
Rose’s current Tottenham deal is not due to expire until 2021 and now the left-back looks set for a summer of disappointment unless there are any dramatic changes.
The Tottenham defender missed most of last season through injury and failed to usurp Ben Davies in the pecking order after returning to full fitness.
Rose was limited to 10 appearances in the Premier League as a result, finishing the campaign with a less-than-impressive WhoScored rating of 6.74.
