Chelsea are the frontrunners to sign Atletico Madrid defender Stefan Savic this summer, reports Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Premier League giants are still unsure who their manager will be for next season but that hasn’t stopped them planning in the transfer window.
Chelsea are already heavily linked with a move for Nice ace Jean Seri and are now interested in signing Atletico defender Savic.
The 27-year-old spent one largely unsuccessful season at Manchester City before joining Fiorentina in 2012.
Atletico signed the Montenegro centre-back three years ago but he has struggled to nail down a regular starting berth in that time.
Diego Simeone has predominately selected Diego Godin and Jose Gimenez as his preferred centre-back pairing and now Savic is being linked with a move away.
Atletico have a superior win ratio when Savic has not started a league game (72.9%) in the last three seasons compared to when he has featured from the off (59.1%).
