Tottenham have signed Fulham starlet Ryan Sessegnon in a player-plus-cash deal, the Premier League outfit has announced.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have agreed an initial £25m deal with Fulham and sent 22-year-old Josh Onomah to Craven Cottage on a permanent deal.
Sessegnon has been on Tottenham’s radar for the best part of two years and the 19-year-old will now provide competition for places at left-back with Ben Davies and Danny Rose.
The England Under-21 international, who is currently recovering from a hamstring injury, struggled in his first ever Premier League campaign last term but Tottenham still have faith in the teenager.
Sessegnon has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with an option to a further 12 months and his arrival at Tottenham adds to what has been a whirlwind day of transfers for the club.
Sessegnon played a direct hand in eight goals in 35 Premier League appearances last season, having scored 16 goals and provided eight assists in the Championship in Fulham’s promotion-winning campaign in 2017/18.
