Everton and Leicester are in the running to sign RB Leipzig forward Jean-Kevin Augustin, claims The Daily Telegraph.
Both Premier League teams want to bolster their offensive options for the new season and could rival each other for Augustin.
Brendan Rodgers wants competition for Jamie Vardy with Shinji Okazaki set to leave and Kelechi Iheanacho’s struggles.
Meanwhile, Everton boss Marco Silva is desperate to add firepower to his ranks following Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Cenk Tosun’s shortcomings in front of goal.
The aforementioned duo combined for just nine league goals this season, while Richarlison only scored four times from 11 appearances as a striker.
Augustin has failed to establish himself as a first-team regular for Leipzig this season and could now make a Premier League move.
The 21-year-old has spent the last two years at Leipzig after joining from Paris Saint-Germain.
Augustin started 14 league games in his first season but has only managed three this time around.
Despite very little game time over the last two years, the France Under-21 international still manages a goal or an assist every 97.4 minutes of league action.
