Tottenham turn to Borussia Dortmund for Sessegnon alternative

Tottenham are interested in signing Borussia Dortmund starlet Christian Pulisic after growing increasingly resigned to missing out on Ryan Sessegnon this summer, claims The Daily Telegraph.

Sessegnon looks set to stay at Fulham next season after the Cottagers secured promotion to the Premier League with a 1-0 playoff win over Aston Villa on Saturday.

The 18-year-old scored and assisted 24 goals in 49 league games for Fulham this season and has been heavily linked with big money moves to Manchester United and Tottenham in the last six months.

Fulham will demand in the region of £50m to even entertain letting Sessegnon leave this summer and that has forced Tottenham to reconsider their options.

Tottenham are now weighing up a stunning move to prise Pulisic away from Dortmund, although could face stiff competition from United, who are long-term admirers.

Pulisic has developed into one of the most exciting prospects in Europe and his arrival would not only strengthen Tottenham on the pitch, but off it too.

The United States international, who has huge commercial appeal, can play on either flank and through the middle, which is versatility that will appeal to Mauricio Pochettino.

Pulisic, 19, only contributed nine goals in 32 league appearances for Dortmund this season (four goals, five assists), but did complete the most dribbles in the Bundesliga (77).
