PSG midfielder is wasting his time at the club, says Nantes president
Nantes president has risked a backlash from Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain after claiming Grzegorz Krychowiak is wasting his time at the club.
Krychowiak, 27, followed Unai Emery from Sevilla to PSG at the start of the season but has struggled to make any impact at the club in his first season back in France since 2014.
The Poland international was only used as a late substitute in PSG’s humiliating 6-1 defeat against Barcelona in the Champions League in midweek and has been linked with a move away from the club, which Nantes president, Waldemar Kita, believes would benefit from.
“Grzegorz does not need to sit on PSG’s bench. He should come to Nantes,” Kita told Polish outlet Przeglad Sportowy, via ESPN. “I do not know if he would like to come because he has ambitions but I have been thinking about loaning him, even back in January. I have got great relations with PSG.
“In my opinion, right now it would be hard for him to come back to play for smaller team. However, as I always say, you either are the locomotive or a carriage. I am sure that in Nantes, Grzegorz would be the locomotive.”
The former Sevilla ace has only started seven league games for PSG this season in which they have only won 57.1% of those matches, compared to a substantially better win rate of 71.4% when he does not start.
