Fulham confirmed via their official website the loan signing of Calum Chambers from Arsenal on Tuesday evening, with the 23-year-old further bolstering Slavisa Jokanovic’s defensive ranks at Craven Cottage.
The defender becomes The Cottagers’ seventh summer signing and joins the likes of Alfie Mawson and Maxime Le Marchand in offering competition to the backline following the departures of Ryan Fredericks and Matt Targett.

The youngster could see more opportunities at right-back than in the centre of the defence as a result, but his versatility in that regard will be a key asset as the club looks to consolidate a place in the top-flight.
The move also leaves Arsenal a little exposed in terms of defensive cover as things stand, though the Gunners are reportedly in the market for reinforcements in that regard.
Chambers started ten league games for the North London outfit last season, ending up on the winning side in just four of said matches.
