Liverpool will sign Naby Keita from RB Leipzig in the summer and Jurgen Klopp is now eyeing a move for his team-mate Timo Werner, claims The Independent.
Klopp will use the money generated from Philippe Coutinho’s departure in January to bolster his offensive options for next season.
Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for Monaco star Thomas Lemar but their interest in the France international has cooled this year.
The Reds are now interested in prising Werner away from the Bundesliga outfit even though the Germany international recently ruled out leaving Leipzig this summer.
Werner has also revealed playing in the Premier League is his dream and Liverpool are now the frontrunners for the 22-year-old’s signature.
Negotiations with Leipzig would be far from straightforward, particularly given how hard it was to agree a deal for Keita last summer.
Since the start of last season only Robert Lewandowski (53) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (44) have scored more Bundesliga goals than Werner (31).
