Paris Saint-Germain to bid €180m for Mbappe

Paris Saint-Germain have no interest in curbing their summer expenditure following the world record arrival of Neymar and are now ready to spend as much as €180m (£162.9m) to land Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe, reports L’Equipe, via Marca.

Mbappe has been heavily linked with a move away from Monaco all summer and has reportedly now informed the Ligue 1 champions he wants to leave and join one of the biggest clubs in Europe.

Real Madrid were thought to be the front runners for the teenager but reports emerged over the weekend suggesting Zinedine Zidane’s side have ended their interest in the France international.

Last week PSG shattered the world record for a player after shelling out £193m on Barcelona superstar Neymar and they are willing to push Financial Fair Play to the limit in order to secure the services of Mbappe.

Monaco have already ruled out business with their Ligue 1 rivals for Fabinho but it remains to be seen whether they would be able to turn down €180m for the 18-year-old.

Mbappe’s potential arrival would almost certainly mean that players will need to leave PSG this summer, with the likes of Grzegorz Krychowiak, Blaise Matuidi, Serge Aurier and Angel di Maria all tipped with exits.

The French striker hobbled off with 15 minutes remaining in Monaco’s 3-2 win over Toulouse on Friday evening but the extent of his injury has yet been made public.

Of players that scored at least 15 goals in Europe’s top five leagues last season, only Max Kruse (36.6%) and Alexandre Lacazette (33.3%) had a better conversion rate than Mbappe (28.8%).
