Fantasy Football: Who to buy, sell and captain for gameweek 7
Heading into the the penultimate gameweek before the November international break (yawn) and we are back with more Fantasy Football tips to help you lock in your teams before Friday night's deadline.
At this point it isn't worth looking too far ahead as the international break could cause absolute havoc with players flying all over the world to represent their countries. Instead, you may look for more immediate pay-offs when selecting your teams.
As ever, we have picked out someone to buy, someone to sell and who to captain for gameweek 7 in the Premier League.
Who to buy: Danny Ings (Southampton) - 8.5M
Southampton are a curious side in that when things click they are really capable of beating anyone under Ralph Hassenhuttl. But there is another side to them, like the one that started the season with a 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace and 5-2 home defeat to Tottenham. Usually when they hit top gear they go on a decent run and that looks to be now.
Saints are unbeaten in their last four Premier League matches and last weekend they comfortably beat league leaders Everton 2-0. Danny Ings was the star of the show that day, setting up both goals, and he should be considered for your fantasy teams this weekend.
Southampton will look to extend their unbeaten run to five games away to Aston Villa. Ings scored a brace on his last trip to Villa Park and has scored four goals in five previous meetings. Moreover, of the 30 Premier League goals Ings has directly contributed towards since the beginning of last season, more than half have come on the road. Southampton also head into the international break with a home match against Newcastle.
Who to sell: Jorginho (Chelsea) - 5.3M
This might seem a slightly odd tip but Jorginho is currently selected by a greater proportion of users than the likes of Sadio Mane, Marcus Rashford, Kai Havertz and Raheem Sterling. It makes sense in some ways as he is cheap, a regular starter for a top six side and is on penalties. While the first two points still stand, Frank Lampard has revealed he may not be on spot-kicks moving forward as long as Timo Werner is on the pitch. Without penalties, Jorginho is a redundant pick for your team. Chelsea have been awarded five penalties already this season, with Jorginho converting three. He missed one in midweek before Werner stepped up and slotted one home later on in the same game.
Who to captain: Bruno Fernandes (Man Utd) vs Arsenal
Manchester United have done a tremendous job since their humilating 6-1 defeat at home to Tottenham. They are unbeaten in four matches in all competitions and will be full of confidence heading into this weekend's tie with Arsenal after thrashing top of the Bundesliga RB Leipzig 5-0 in midweek.
Marcus Rashford is the star of the show at the moment but Bruno Fernandes remains as key as ever. Even when he's not having the best of games he still manages to pop up with a goal or an assist - every FPL manager's dream. Fernandes has astonishingly played a direct hand in 28 goals in his first 30 appearances for United in all competitions. Given United have been awarded 24 penalties since the beginning of last season, it would not be a surprise to see Fernandes rack up some points from the spot on Sunday. They appear to be facing Arsenal at the ideal moment, as the Gunners have lost back-to-back league games and have not scored in either game.
