Brits Abroad: Kane fluffs lines as Maitland-Niles keeps calm and carries on

 

For the first time since 2012, Bayern Munich aren't Bundesliga champions after the weekend's action confirmed Bayer Leverkusen as title winners for the first time in their history. Harry Kane and Eric Dier endured mixed fortunes in Bayern's 2-0 win over FC Koeln on Saturday, while Jude Bellingham failed to add to his 16 league goals against Mallorca over the weekend.

Harry Kane - Bayern Munich 

 

Harry Kane did all he could to add to his 32 league goals this season in Bayern Munich's 2-0 win over FC Koeln but drew a blank having mustered five shots in total and struck the woodwork once. Kane also completed one dribble and won one aerial duel to return a WhoScored rating of 7.09. 

 

Eric Dier - Bayern Munich 

 

Eric Dier stood firm in Saturday's home win as evidenced by a WhoScored rating of 7.30. The 30-year-old made four clearances and one tackle in a clean-sheet attaining display, and found a teammate with 96.3% of his 108 attempted passes. 

 

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens - Borussia Dortmund 

 

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens impressed on a rare start for Borussia Dortmund prior to his 54th minute withdrawal. The teenager completed seven dribbles in the 2-1 win at Gladbach as he gave the Foals backline a torrid time. 

 

Jude Bellingham - Real Madrid 

 

Over to Spain now, Jude Bellingham struck the woodwork in Real Madrid's narrow 1-0 win at Mallorca on Saturday, mustering two shots in total. In addition, Bellingham completed two dribbles to help land a WhoScored rating of 7.11. 

 

Ruben Loftus-Cheek - AC Milan 

 

AC Milan came from behind to rescue a point at relegation threatened Sassuolo over the weekend, with Noah Okafor's 84th minute strike ensuring the spoils were shared in an entertaining 3-3 draw. Ruben Loftus-Cheek struggled during his time on the pitch as he returned a WhoScored rating of just 6.29 before coming off in the 55th minute. 

 

Lewis Ferguson - Bologna 

 

Bologna's top four hopes suffered a blow as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Monza. Lewis Ferguson faltered in the stalemate failing to make a key pass or a tackle. While the Scot returned a pass success rate of 96.4% and fired off three efforts on goal, Ferguson also committed four fouls and was booked in a sub-par showing. 

 

Ainsley Maitland-Niles - Lyon 

 

Lyon's hero against Brest, Ainsley Maitland-Niles kept his composure in the 105th minute to slot home from 12 yards in an entertaining 4-3 win on Sunday night. The 26-year-old also made two tackles, completed one dribble and created one goalscoring chance on his way to a WhoScored rating of 6.88.

Chuba Akpom - Ajax 

 

Chuba Akpom replaced Brian Brobbey midway through the second half of Ajax's 2-1 win over Twente, though didn't really impact the game as noted by a WhoScored rating of 6.01. 

 

Jonjo Shelvey - Rizespor

 

Jonjo Shelvey registered just his fourth assist of the season as Rizespor claimed a 3-0 win over Antalyaspor on Sunday. That assist came from his only key pass in the victory, while six accurate long balls, two tackles and two clearances saw the midfielder return a WhoScored rating of 7.26. 

 

Lewis Morgan - NYRB 

 

New York Red Bulls were held to a 0-0 draw by Chicago Fire over the weekend as Lewis Morgan failed to add to his six league goals. It wasn't for want of trying, though, as Morgan managed five shots in the stalemate. 

 

Matty Longstaff - Toronto FC 

 

Matty Longstaff struggled to dominate in Toronto FC's 3-2 loss at Charlotte and earned a WhoScored rating of just 5.98 for his troubles. While he returned a 94.7% pass success rate, Longstaff was unable to turn the game in his side's favour prior to his second half withdrawal. 

 

Ryan Gauld - Vancouver Whitecaps 

 

Vancouver Whitecaps crashed to a 3-1 home loss to new Western Conference leaders LA Galaxy over the weekend, though Ryan Gauld was solid in attack in defeat. Indeed, Gauld provided the assist for Brian White's second half strike from one of four key passes and made one clearance on his way to a WhoScored rating of 7.16. 

 

Matt Crooks - Real Salt Lake 

 

Matt Crooks disappointed once more as Real Salt Lake were held to a 0-0 draw with Columbus Crew. The 30-year-old committed three fouls and was booked for his troubles in the stalemate, all the while making just one key pass to land a WhoScored rating of 6.15.
