Fanteam Fantasy Football: Liverpool defeat to spell end of Everton boss Silva

Marco Silva is on the brink as Everton manager after yet another defeat at the weekend. Silva couldn't have wished for a worse fixture up next than a Merseyside debry at Anfield, a match the Toffees haven't won since 1999. Things do not get much easier for Everton, with a home encounter with Chelsea three days later.

Everton are only one place above the bottom three and two points clear of the relegation zone and it's hard to see Silva coming out of this week still employed by the Toffees. With that, we have focused heavily on Liverpool players in our Fanteam Fantasy Football team for Wednesday night's contest.

Pay special attention to this one, as there is a spot up for grabs for this month's World Championship of Online Fantasy Football. In the dark about the WCOFF? There is a guarenteed top prize of €30,000 for the user with the highest combined score over gameweeks 28 and 29 at the end of this month.

We have even revealed the six players we have selected for our Merseyside team to give you a helping hand, with additional analysis on a couple of our selections. It's worth noting that with a tight 50M budget, it's difficult to select your team without Everton players even though they are expected to lose.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (10.6M) and Andrew Robertson (10.9M)

In the last 18 months there is no doubt Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson have developed into the best full-back pairing in Europe. Both offer so much creativity and add an extra dimension to the way Liverpool attack. It's not just Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino that opponents need to defend but also Alexander-Arnold and Robertson.

Remarkably, Alexander-Arnold has registered the most assists in the Premier League since the beginning of last season (17) and Robertson is just one behind. The former netted a brace of assists in Liverpool's 2-1 win over Brighton at the weekend, while Robertson has two in his last three league outings.

Djibril Sidibe (4.2M) and Richarlison (5.9M)

Everton's struggles at Anfield are well documented but they should at least take some confidence from the fact Liverpool have not been solid at the back this season. Liverpool have not kept a clean sheet at Anfield this season and first-choice goalkeeper Alisson is suspended for the home side. Adrian has proved his worth on occasion already this season but has committed two errors leading to an opposition goal in nine league appearances.

Everton's best chance of scoring will come through the combination of Djibril Sidibe from right-back and Richarlison in attack. Sidibe is currently keeping captain Seamus Coleman out of the team, albeit the Irishman is injured at the moment, and both of his assists in the league have been converted by Richarlison. The Brazilian has scored in his last two away league matches and taken the WhoScored Man of the Match award in each game.
