Match Week 32 Round-up

All 20 Premier League sides were in action in match week 32 of the Premier League, with no shortage of standout performances.

One man who continued his scintillating form since a loan move to QPR, however, was Andros Townsend, and he picked up the best WhoScored rating of the round (9.48) due to some phenomenal figures. The only other player to register above a nine last week (9.10) was another youngster bang in form, with Southampton's Jay Rodgriguez scoring for the third game running, as well as picking up an assist.

Swansea's main man Michu racked up the most shots of the weekend but could only score with 1 of his 9 attempts at goal, while Papiss Cisse struck at the death against Fulham after it hadn't looked like being his day, taking 8 shots to find the net. Cisse's teammate Cabaye set up the crucial winner and it was one of a week high of 7 key passes the Frenchman made.

Although he didn't score or assist a goal, the aforementioned Townsend picked up the man of the match award against Wigan after completing 14 dribbles; the highest by any player in a single match all season. The winger also made 5 tackles, but was trumped by Michael Carrick and James Collins who finished with 8 apiece.

Match Week 33 Suggested XI

David De Gea

David De Gea kept 6 consecutive clean sheets in the league prior to United's defeat to Man City. He will be confident of returning to such form against a Stoke side who've scored fewer goals than any team in the league (28) and a West Ham side who've failed to score in 7 of their last 10 games against the Red Devils.

Rafael

Rafael has been chosen here for much the same reasons as United's number one, ahead of a double game week for the league leaders. With Ferguson likely to rotate his centre-backs in turn, Rafael and Evra are most likely to play both matches, with the Brazilian picking up a goal and an assist in his last 4 league appearances.

Luke Shaw

We're backing Southampton to keep back-to-back clean sheets for the first time this season when they host West Ham this weekend. Allardyce's side have scored the joint-fewest away goals this season (9) and the Saints have conceded just 1.05 goals per game with teenager Shaw in the side compared to 2.54 when he isn't.

Leighton Baines

Everton are another side that play twice in the coming week, up against QPR at home and Arsenal away respectively. They will certainly fancy their chances in the former, and with the WhoScored match forecast suggesting that they will score from a wing play situation, Baines will hope to add to his tally of 5 assists.

Fantasy Football Tipster: Gameweek 33

Santi Cazorla

Santi Cazorla has scored 3 goals and picked up an assist in his last 2 league games at the Emirates, and Arsenal play at home twice this week. The Gunners are tipped to score through a piece of individual skill in the first of those games, against Norwich, and the Spaniard has completed the third most dribbles (71) in the league and the most accurate through balls this season (26).

Yohan Cabaye

Newcastle may well have taken a huge step towards safety with a win last weekend but they'll have no problem motivating themselves for the chance to dump local rivals Sunderland deeper into the mire. Pardew's side are tipped to score from a direct freekick, and only Snodgrass has netted more than Yohan Cabaye (2) this season.

Marouane Fellaini

Marouane Fellaini is back following a two game suspension and in turn will be fresh ahead of a double game week for David Moyes’ side. Their first game, against QPR, looks set to play into the Belgian's favour. Everton are backed to score from both a wing play and set-piece situation, and Fellaini has scored 5 headed goals already this season.

David Silva

The inclusion of David Silva here may well be a risk, with the playmaker a slight doubt with a hamstring problem, but WhoScored's match forecast suggest City's game against Wigan is one he would excel in. Mancini's side are tipped to score via a piece of individual skill and a fast break, and also to create a lot of chances. Silva has made the most key passes per game in the entire league (3.3).

Robin van Persie

Picking van Persie after a barren run of 10 matches without a goal may seem odd, but the Dutchman will fancy his chances of getting back on the goal trail this week as United face Stoke and West Ham. The league leaders are tipped to score from a direct freekick at the Britannia and through individual skill at Upton Park, and the marksman will get chances in those matches.

Bryan Ruiz

The fifth side that play twice this week are Martin Jol's Fulham and, while Berbatov grabs the headlines, their weekend match against Villa may well favour Bryan Ruiz. The away side on Saturday are deemed likely to score from a long shot, and the Costa Rican has struck twice from outside the box, while all of Berbatov's goals have come from inside the area.

Jay Rodriguez

While Mauricio Pochettino's appointment seems to have had a positive effect on most at the club, no-one has welcomed it more so than Jay Rodriguez. The forward has scored 3 and assisted 2 goals in his last 3 matches, and the youngster is clearly high on confidence at the moment, attempting 5 more shots (29) than any other player in the league since the beginning of March.
