Fantasy Football Tipster: Gameweek 25

So the transfer window has slammed shut in the Premier League, but the advantage of you managing a fantasy football team rather than the real deal is the wheeling and dealing needn't stop here.

We're back with our regular tipster XI ahead of gameweek 25 and though many will be pinning their hopes on new signings already, we're holding judgment for now and have selected a team that only includes one mover this month.

Our selections are, as ever, based on statistics, form and match forecasts, so without further ado here's your rundown of keeper to striker.

Goalkeeper

Between the sticks we've opted for Julio Cesar, whose form of late has ensured vital points for QPR and that he has worked his way into the WhoScored Premier League team of the season for now, with a rating of 7.1. Redknapp has organised his defence to the extent that they have conceded just once in 4 league matches and Rangers host a Norwich side on a dismal run, having failed to score in 3 of their last 6 games.

Defence

Patrice Evra has arguably had his best season in a United shirt to date, with his offensive statistics certainly better than they have ever been. With 4 goals and 5 assists to his name, the Frenchman will be looking to add to said-tallies against Fulham this weekend. United are tipped to score from a set piece situation this weekend and no player has netted more than Evra's 4 from such a scenario.

At the heart of our defence we've plumped for Per Mertesacker, with the Gunners set to host a faltering Stoke side at the Emirates this weekend. The Potters have only netted twice in their four Premier League encounters away at Arsenal, failing to score on two of those occasions, and if there is one Arsenal player with the height to cause a nuisance of himself at corners it may be the German.

Our backline is completed by Leighton Baines, who we're backing to continue his form against Villa having scored twice in midweek. Only QPR have scored fewer league goals than Paul Lambert's side this season, and the Toffees will be strong favourites to get the result. With the hosts also tipped to score from a set piece in our match forecast, Baines will be the usual suspect over any deal ball situation.

Midfield

Further forward in our XI you can find some real bargains this week, starting on the wings where we've opted for Damien Duff, despite the fact that Fulham host the league leaders.

Though last season's encounter didn't go to plan, the Londoners have proven tough to crack at the Cottage for United, winning two and drawing the other in a 3-game unbeaten run against the Red Devils prior to 2011/12. Duff was on the scoresheet in Fulham's last victory over Ferguson's men and with the hosts tipped to score from a wing play situation, we're tipping the Irishman to add to two assists from midweek.

On the opposite flank, fit again club captain Adam Lallana should lead out his Southampton side at Wigan on Saturday. The visitors are likely to score as a result of individual skill according to the match forecast, and though Lallana isn't known for his dribbling, his creativity has led to 4 assists in 16 starts and the 24 year old has the ability to pop up in the box himself.

Theo Walcott continues to impress in terms of his goal return despite having been moved back out wide due to the form of Olivier Giroud of late. Despite this, Walcott has netted in each of his last 4 appearances in all competitions, taking his league tally to 11 and overall total to 17. He will be confident of adding to those figures against a Stoke defence that has looked unrecognisable recently, conceding 15 goals in 5 league games.

Completing our midfield is Swansea playmaker Jonathan De Guzman. Michael Laudrup's side make the trip to West Ham having won the reverse fixture 3-0 earlier in the season and the Welsh outfit's away record is only inferior to the league's top 6 this season (16 pts). De Guzman has 3 goals in his last 5 league games and, as the club's set piece specialist, always has the opportunity to add to his 33 key passes this season.

Attack

We couldn't resist the chance to choose Demba Ba this week, who we're backing to replace Torres against his former club Newcastle and show the home faithful what they've lost come Saturday. The WhoScored match forecast suggests that Chelsea will exploit an individual error from their opponents to score and we think Ba could be that man and add to his 13-goal haul in the league this season.

Spearheading our attack is Andy Carroll, whose recovery from injury will be a welcome relief to Sam Allardyce with both Cole and Chamakh struggling in front of goal. For that reason, Carroll should start against Swansea this weekend; particularly given the fact that Swansea's team characteristics show that they are weak in the air. The hosts will dominate in that department and, tipped to score from a set piece, should get the ball to Carroll as quickly as possible.

Our final selection this week is a man who has become famed in the league for his last ditch exploits. Though he hasn't been a regular in the starting XI, Reading have consistently looked to Adam Le Fondre late on, and he has duly delivered. With 6 goals from the bench this season a league high, and 7 strikes in his last 5 games in all competitions, the forward could be among the goals again regardless of whether he starts when the Royals play host to Sunderland.
