Transfer recap: Top Bundesliga signings you may have missed this summer

In part three of our transfer feature looking back at the switches that may have passed you by in recent weeks, we turn our attentions to the German Bundesliga to assess three new signings hoping to make an immediate impact.

Nordi Mukiele (RB Leipzig)

Another player leaving Ligue 1 this summer, Nordi Mukiele has made the move from Montpellier to RB Leipzig and could prove to be another astute pick up from the Bundesliga outfit. The 20-year-old has proven to be equally effective from centre and right-back since breaking into La Paillade’s first team set up and even impressed further forward on the wing on occasion. Comfortable at bringing the ball out from the back and confident enough to play incisive forward passes, the French youth international should be a valuable asset to returning manager Ralf Rangnick.

Mitchell Weiser (Bayer Leverkusen)

It’s fair to say that Weiser has had his fair share of injury problems in his career to date but if he can put those behind him then Bayer Leverkusen will have secured a very useful player. Comfortable playing in any position on the right, the 24-year-old will provide healthy competition for the likes of Benjamin Henrichs and Lars Bender and should into the multiple systems that Heiko Herrlich utilises. Strong defensively with a good delivery from wide areas, the former Bayern youngster will be keen to make his mark.

Wout Weghorst (Wolfsburg)

Wolfsburg fans may feel as though they are suffering from de ja vu next season following the signing of Weghorst from AZ Alkmaar. Following a long tradition of target men up front, the 25-year-old will undoubtedly be compared to former Wolves forward Bas Dost given his nationality and 6'6" stature. The Dutchman was the third top scorer in the Eredivisie last season, netting 18 times, and while his compatriot may never have cemented his place as first choice striker for the Bundesliga outfit, if Weghorst can replicate his strike rate of a goal every 155 minutes in Germany he will be a success.
