Man Utd target Nkunku among top performing Bundesliga players in March

 

RB Leipzig earned five points from their three games in March, but were effective in the final third as no team scored more goals (7). In addition, only Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund (both 1) conceded fewer goals than Domenico Tedesco's side (2), though the former did only play twice in March. 

 

Here, we take a look at the top performing players from the Bundesliga from March, with Manchester United and Bayern Munich target Christopher Nkunku among those to shine and make the team of the month. 

 

3. Christopher Nkunku (RB Leipzig) - 7.71 

 

Christopher Nkunku deservedly earned international recognition this month after a series of fine performances for RB Leipzig. The Frenchman had a direct hand in three goals in March, scoring once, to take his total for the Bundesliga season to 15 goals and nine assists. Two assists came from seven key passes in March, the fourth best, to help the Frenchman to a WhoScored rating of 7.71. 

 

2. Nico Schlotterbeck (Freiburg) - 7.73 

 

Not for the first time this season, Nico Schlotterbeck makes the Bundesliga team of the month. The young German scored his fourth league goal of the campaign in March, netting in Freiburg's entertaining 3-2 win over Wolfsburg, all the while being defensively sound with 12 tackles and interceptions combined ranking 12th in the division and 15 clearances placing sixth to yield a WhoScored rating of 7.73.

1. Angelino (RB Leipzig) - 7.93 

 

The top rated player in the Bundesliga in March, Angelino is the star man from Germany's top tier with a WhoScored rating of 7.93. The Spaniard has directly contributed to seven league goals this season, three of which came in March as the 25-year-old scored one and assisted two. Eight key passes was the third best return to contribute towards Angelino's individual award.
